Race car...

The 219 MG ZR started its competition life as a stage rally car, run by Martin Farrar and Andy Ward, before being purchased in late 2010 by Gary Cook for conversion to rallycross specification.

The MG being used in rallying.

The car was purchased as a rolling shell and so an 1800cc K Series engine, that had been used for a number of successful seasons in autograss, was given a rebuild at Exon Race Engines before being fitted to the modified and re-painted shell.

The interior being stripped out.

Ready for the paint shop.

The engine bay.

Power is transferred to the track via a 5 speed Quaife Engineering gearbox. Depending on track conditions, the car is usually run on Kumho tyres, from Mel Williams Tyres.
